To teach or not to teach? Such is the dilemma facing 22-year old otaku nerd and physics wunderkind Junichiro Kagami, in The Ultimate Otaku Teacher [Denpa Kyoushi ], an anime based on the bestselling weekly manga of the same name.
Burned out after being published in esteemed science journal “Nature” at the ripe old age of 17, Kagami withdraws into a world where he can focus on his love of manga and games, and update his anime blog. Professing to suffer from “I don’t give a damn” syndrome, Kagami’s rejection of a more conventional lifestyle spurs his sister into getting him a job teaching physics at his old high school. To our hero’s surprise, teaching is better than expected. Will he continue? Retreat to his otaku ways? Or be lured back to the world of physics?
